New Wineskins

I was reading in Jeremiah last week, and a verse jumped out at me. Jer. 48:11: “Moab has been at ease from his youth; he has settled on his dregs, and has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, nor has he gone into captivity. Therefore his taste remained in him and his scent has not changed.”

In my mind, this connected with Mark 2:22: “And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, he pours new wine into new wineskins.”

All the transitions we go through in life make us able to receive the new things that God has for us. Otherwise we get old, moldy and smelly. What a picture!!!
