What about Me?

Do you ever get to the point where you feel like everyone else gets some of your time…except you?

Parents of toddlers often get no time to themselves, if the child is napping, then there are chores to be done, once the toddler is in bed, exhaustion hits.

People with children and aging parents are also caught in the middle – needs from all parts of the family seem to fall on already overwhelmed shoulders.

Paul spoke to the Philippians during a time of rest: it was finally about him:

“I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern
for me. Indeed, you have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it.
I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content
whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it
is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every
situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I
can do everything through him who gives me strength.” (Phil. 4:10-13)

You may feel all alone in the midst, like no one is taking care of you, but lift your head. God really is in charge, and He will give you the strength for today. He will also open doors of possibility in your tomorrows.

Whether you feel like you have no time or resources for yourself, or you feel like you are alone entirely too much – God will provide contentment for this and every time in your life. The key is thankfulness – in all things give thanks. What are you thankful for today.?
